It’s been a busy season for our society member and FIFA Futsal referee Valentin Ciuplea, who just returned from another UEFA trip. Val have traveled back to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he got his first UEFA appointment in 2014 in Sarajevo, to take charge of the Main Round of the first UEFA European Under-19 Futsal Championship 2019, after just returned from his previous trip in Lithuania for the Preliminary Round.
This time Val traveled to the city of Mostar, where teams from Serbia, Moldova, Portugal and Bosnia and Herzegovina competed for a place in the first UEFA Under-19 Futsal EURO final tournament that will be an eight-team event from 8 to 14 September 2019 at Arena Riga in the Latvian capital.
It was very high quality tournament that have been contested until the final game that saw Portugal winning the decider against the host team. Portugal now will join Latvia (hosts), Croatia, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain and Ukraine for the final tournament.
